Air Products, the world leader in the production and distribution of hydrogen, took part in the hydrogen truck demonstration days organized by the Occitanie region on the Albi motor racing circuit on 22 and 23 September. The company provided the mobile hydrogen station to refuel the heavy vehicles made available to interested companies and trained them in its use. The company also demonstrated its hydrogen know-how and experience at the end of the press conference organized on 22 September at 4.30pm.

For the first time in France, two days of testing and demonstration of hydrogen trucks were organized by the Occitanie region with the support of Ad'OCC on the Albi automobile circuit for transporters. The objective was twofold: to allow them to test the feasibility and viability of the hydrogen vehicle offer directly with the manufacturers and to commit themselves as future users of the "Corridor H2". This European project, initiated by the Occitanie region, aims to decarbonize freight and passenger transport on a North/South axis from the Mediterranean to the North Sea, by developing the use of hydrogen as a new renewable fuel for heavy duty vehicles. 

Air Products, with over 60 years of experience in hydrogen fuel and services, was the obvious partner for this operation. Air Products’ technology has already been used to fuel vehicles at Air Products' hydrogen stations in 20 countries in Europe and elsewhere, and has been involved in more than 250 projects worldwide. In Albi, Air Products installed a mobile refueling station powered by hydrogen from a high-pressure gas trailer parked next to it. Air Products is committed to presenting hydrogen vehicles as the future of sustainable transport. That's why the company is offering a solution for such trials by combining a dedicated "heavy mobility" refueling station with mobile high-pressure storage capacity for rapid installation in near-real-life conditions. 

Mathieu Amar, General Manager of Air Products in France, was present at the press conference organized at 4.30 pm on 22 September to present the mobile refueling station and Air Products’ capabilities and solutions when it comes to hydrogen for mobility to the stakeholders concerned.

We hope this initiative will inspire other projects similar to the Corridor H2 project across the country."

Air Products will also accelerate the conversion of its own fleet of trucks to hydrogen. The test phase is due to start in 2022.
